List Of Prominent Leaders Who Obado Found In The Prison Where He Was Taken
Former Migori Governor Okoth Obado has been taken to Block G at Industrial Area Prison following his conviction in the murder of university student Sharon Otieno.
Upon arrival, Obado and other convicted inmates underwent the prison’s routine admission procedures.
They received medical examinations, completed registration, had their belongings documented, and were issued with prison uniforms and bedding before being allocated sleeping areas.
Block G is considered a high-security section and has previously accommodated inmates convicted in high-profile criminal and corruption cases.
Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and Sirisia MP John Waluke both served sentences there after being convicted in separate corruption cases.
Obado’s transfer also brings him back to the same facility where he was held following his arrest in 2018 in connection with Sharon Otieno’s death. He spent more than a month in custody before being granted bail as the case continued.
Former Nairobi Central Police Station commander Samson Talaam is also reportedly being held in Block G over charges linked to the death of teacher Albert Ojwang.
Prison authorities have maintained that inmates are placed in different sections based on security considerations and prison management requirements.
They have emphasized that an inmate’s political connections or former public office does not determine where they are housed.
