No More Secret, Kioni Spills The Beans On Who Will Take Power Before 2027

Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has said ODM's decision to cooperate with the Kenya Kwanza administration has created an opportunity for the opposition to regroup and strengthen its position ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during an interview on Radio 47 on Thursday night, Kioni said he is confident Kenyans will soon see a revitalized, youthful, and well-organized Azimio coalition that will be ready to form the next government in 2027—or even sooner. 

He also noted that the opposition is willing to work closely with Generation Z in advancing the country's future.

Kioni argued that with the support and participation of young people, the coalition would become more united, energetic, and capable of presenting a strong alternative to the current administration.

His remarks followed comments by ODM leader Oburu Odinga, who revealed that the party would nominate some of its senior members to serve in President William Ruto's government. 

The announcement attracted criticism from several Azimio leaders, who insisted they remain opposed to joining the Kenya Kwanza administration and instead support a coalition-based arrangement.

Some opposition figures further argued that accepting government positions after previously calling for the withdrawal of the Finance Bill and the dissolution of the Cabinet would be viewed as a betrayal of Generation Z's demands.

President Ruto later announced plans to nominate Hassan Joho, Wycliffe Oparanya, John Mbadi, and Opiyo Wandayi to Cabinet positions, a move that triggered extensive debate within ODM and the broader Azimio coalition.
